JangoSMTP is a powerful, reliable platform for sending transactional email, whether you need a simple SMTP relay or the ability to integrate with an API. Trained specialists monitor shared IP addresses for sending to ensure your messages are delivered, and make dedicated IP addresses available for improved delivery. Every JangoMail account has access to our SMTP sending services. If you only need SMTP/transactional sending, you can sign up at JangoSMTP.com.

Transactional emails are single-recipient emails that facilitate a transaction between the sender and the recipient. Examples of transactional emails are order confirmations, appointment reminders, “be my friend” requests on social networking sites, and regular person-to-person emails. Additionally, you can send marketing emails as transactional messages (typically via an automated server script).

JangoSMTP (or SMTP sending from your JangoMail account) offers two ways to send: an SMTP relay service for an easy, straightforward connection, and an API for more advanced integration that in addition to sending email, can pull reports and perform most account management operations otherwise seen in the user interface. Access the JangoSMTP user interface at any time to view your reports and change account settings. The choice between the two is determined by your need. Visit our API site at api.jangomail.com.

In addition to port 25, you can connect to express-relay.jangosmtp.net on ports 2525 and 587. You can also connect securely over SSL/TLS on port 465.

Transactional Groups are named groups that allow you to label different types of transactional emails and view reporting by the group name. This is useful for email marketers that send different types of transactional email. For example, you might have a group per email campaign or per email type such as “Order Confirmation.” You can then see statistics on your emails on a per-group basis. For more information on this feature, please see our help center guide here.

SMTP logs show the communication between our email sending server and the recipient email server. SMTP logs are available in the Reports section of your JangoSMTP account.

Open and click tracking allow you to see who has opened an email and who has clicked a link within that message. Open tracking works by inserting a small invisible image into the bottom of your message content. Click tracking works by modifying URLs slightly so that we can track when they’re clicked. You can globally enable or disable either tracking option, plus specify them on a message by message basis by adding a RelayOptions string in the header you send to us.

Yes. If you’d like to send email from multiple domains and servers through one account you may do so through both the SMTP relay and our API. You can view reporting for these domains separately by setting up Transactional Groups. Unsubscribes and bounces are managed on an account-wide basis. You can also use our master/subaccount setup via JangoMail.

JangoSMTP is the transactional side of JangoMail. JangoMail is a full-blown email marketing platform, designed for sending broadcast email campaigns as well as transactional email. JangoMail includes the functionality of JangoSMTP. JangoSMTP is just the SMTP service and transactional email API, and does not have all the features of JangoMail.

Although technically you can, we strongly discourage (and may restrict) using a public domain email address for your FROM address. Many providers will block your message if not using their services. For example, if you send to a yahoo.com recipient using your yahoo.com address, Yahoo will block that message from delivery since the sender (i.e., you) are not really sending via Yahoo. If you have your own domain name, use that with an SPF record and domain key from us. Contact us if you need help setting up these items.

Yes – this is our Transaction Event API feature. Using a script on your website that we access via a URL you provide, JangoSMTP can post sends, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, complaints and blocks to your web-accessible database. For more information about this feature, please see our help center guide here.
