a web-based e-mail broadcast and e-mail marketing system designed for
businesses. It allows you to create, send, and track e-mail
campaigns. |
 |
 |

You need a
connection to the Internet, and you must be using either Internet Explorer
(for Windows or Macintosh) or Safari (for Macintosh) as your web browser. |
 |
 |
Q: |
What is
the investment required to get started with a JangoMail account? |
| |

information, see the pricing

 |
 |
Q: |
Why do I
need to use JangoMail to send e-mails out to my list when I can just use my
existing e-mail software and BCC everyone? |
| |
|
A: |
There are
many reasons. Most desktop e-mail clients don't allow sending to
more than 100 or so e-mail addresses at a time. Additionally, BCCing to a
large number of e-mail addresses will often land e-mail messages in
junk mail folders. Finally, BCCing doesn't allow for message
personalization or tracking of individual recipients' behaviors.
When you send a mass e-mail through JangoMail, each individual receives
his own individual e-mail message, with just his e-mail address in the To
line. |
 |
 |
Q: |
What
makes JangoMail different from the other mass e-mailing services? |
| |
|
A: |
Many
factors. Most importantly, however, is that you can extract information from
virtually any database, whether it is on your LAN or on the Internet, and
use that information to conduct a mass, personalized, e-mailing. You can
also store your information in JangoMail's system by creating groups,
defining fields within each group, and then importing or typing your data
into each group. See the
top 10 reasons
JangoMail is better. |
 |
 |
Q: |
What
inspired the creation of JangoMail? |
| |
|
A: |
Its parent
company, Silicomm Corporation, needed a convenient way to send mass,
personalized e-mails to its customer list, but the Silicomm web site was
hosted at a hosting company's server. Thus, the only way to do it prior to
JangoMail was to export the data from our web site's database, and then
import this data into a mass e-mailing software application. We built
JangoMail so that it could pull the information out of the database over the
net and send the e-mail all in one shot. While this is the main goal,
we also packed it with every other e-mail management and tracking feature imaginable. |
 |
 |
Q: |
How big
of a company is JangoMail and how long have you been in business? |
| |
|
A: |
JangoMail's
parent company, Silicomm Corporation, was founded in May of 1998.
JangoMail was created by Silicomm in 2000. JangoMail has over 1,000 satisfied
customers around the world. There are approximately eight
people, full time and part time, that contribute to the success of
JangoMail. |

Q: |
If I
upload my e-mail lists to JangoMail, will you share my e-mail addresses
with anyone else? |
| |
|
A: |
Absolutely
not. JangoMail is in the business of providing an e-mail marketing
platform, not providing e-mail addresses. Your data is yours and
will not be shared with any third party. Our privacy
policy also covers this. |
 |
 |
Q: |
What can
you tell me about the security and infrastructure of JangoMail? |
| |
|
A: |
JangoMail
takes security very seriously. Our core data center is in a Tier 1
Level 3 datacenter that is protected physically by biometric scanners and
monitored 24x7 by security guards. All core JangoMail servers are
behind a firewall that only allows access to the public on certain ports
needed to use the JangoMail web site. All other ports are protected
and restricted by IP address. The JangoMail SMTP servers are
distributed throughout the world across eight different data centers,
providing for the highest level of redundancy and failover possible. |
 |
 |
Q: |
I
downloaded some software that crawls the Internet and collects e-mail
addresses related to my industry. Can I use JangoMail to send to
these? |
| |
|
A: |
No.
This method of collecting e-mail addresses is called
"harvesting" and is prohibited by our Anti-Spam
policy. |
 |
 |
Q: |
To whom
am I allowed to send e-mail with JangoMail? |
| |
|
A: |
You may only
e-mail those recipients with whom you have a prior business relationship
or those that have specifically opted in to your organization. For
more information about whom you can and cannot send e-mail to, please see
our Anti-Spam policy. |
 |
 |
Q: |
I found a
mass e-mailing software package on the Internet for only $199. Why
should I pay you a monthly fee when I can pay a one-time fee for some
desktop software? |
| |
|
A: |
There are
many reasons why it is advantageous to use an e-mail service provider like
JangoMail over using installed software. They include:
- IT
support staff: No need to have an IT support staff to manage your
e-mail servers. JangoMail takes care of that for you.
- Managing
servers: E-mail servers used to be easy to control, but nowadays
are difficult and complex to setup and manage. JangoMail has
invested significantly in building a robust and reliable e-mail
sending infrastructure that is based on performance, speed, and
industry standards for e-mail authentication practices.
- Bandwidth
usage: With JangoMail, all of your e-mails are sent through our
Internet pipes, and therefore, you don't need to worry about
saturating your company's Internet bandwidth. Companies that
attempt to send mass e-mails on their own often find that when they do
so, nobody else in the organization can use the Internet while the
e-mails are going out.
- Deliverability:
One of the biggest challenges for e-mail marketers is ensuring that
their e-mails go into recipients' inboxes rather than their junk mail
folders. JangoMail has invested substantially in whitelisting
programs and developing relationships with major ISPs like Yahoo!,
Hotmail, Juno/Netzero, AOL, and others to ensure the highest
deliverability of your e-mails. Using desktop software to send
e-mails through your own servers, you would have to start from scratch
in developing these relationships on your own. Learn more about
JangoMail's deliverability practices here.
- Tracking:
JangoMail provides tracking capabilities that most installed software
solutions cannot match, such as unsubscribe and bounce management,
click tracking, open tracking, web page activity tracking, and more.
- Reply
management: JangoMail provides robust reply management that
filters out real replies from spam, bounces, out-of-office autoreplies,
viruses, mailbox full messages, and more. You can fully
configure how each of these types of incoming e-mails are
processed. With desktop software, after you send out a mass
e-mail, everything, including bounces, replies, and other types of
incoming e-mails will come straight back to your inbox.
- Usability:
Since JangoMail is a web-based application that runs over the
Internet, you can access it 24x7 from anywhere in the world that you
can get online.
- Setup
time: With JangoMail, you're up and running instantly once your
account has been activated. With installed software, hours can
be spent configuring it to work with your e-mail server and
configuring your e-mail server to allow for the demand that e-mail
broadcasting requires.
